Featured Member of the Month

Firefighter Jeff Feller joined the department back in 2004. Jeff joined around the same time he was trying to finish building a house...for himself and his family! Between trainings, meetings and finishing the house he found little time to sleep. Jeff finished his house four months after joining the department.

Jeff is originally from Shenandoah and has lived in Polk City for 5 years. If you are ever in southwest Iowa and decide to visit Shenandoah make sure and visit the Walk of Fame were famous Iowans from Shenandoah are remembered. Firefighter Feller will soon be featured there for his good looks!?!

Most people do not know this little fact about Firefighter Feller but he is famous for his countless charitable donations received from being Mr. July (kind of fitting for this month, huh). Jeff was granted this title for going above and beyond the call of duty or just because firefighters want to be him? To view the latest version of Mr. July please click here. Jeff is hoping that he will be able to expand his calendar to represent all 12 months...coming soon in 2009! Jeff is known for his quiet demeanor, snow stricken hair and his eyebrow raise.

Jeff has been married to his wife Lisa for 6 years; they have two children and a cat. Logan is 4 (soon to be 5) and Shea is 3. Jeff enjoys time on the lake where he teaches his kids to fish and ski. Jeff works for Oakwood Builders Group (yes, remolding and building homes). Jeff did not get enough his first time building a house so him and his wife decided to give it a second try. Jeff started building his second house in 2006 and moved in spring of 2007. Projects are never done so if you would like to visit Jeff and help him finish his deck while he is fishing feel free to do so.

Jeff currently has the following certifications: Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials Operations and Fire Instructor I. Jeff held the Lieutenant-Fire Division position from 2005-2007.
